You're Hired!!!
I'll give you a simple scenario: You've been praying to have a new job and all of a sudden you've been hired! Are you going to accept or not?
Maybe most of us will say: YES.. "but..." Okay I'll tell you the story behind "but..."
Last Thursday [13-Mar], I received an International call all the way from US... Actually, it's a job interview sa isang company sa San Diego,CA. I applied to this company for a long time ago and since wala namang tawag, I thought di ako pasok at saka I'm not expecting for this... Then yun nga last Thrusday they called for an interview from 11:30am until 1:00pm akong nakababad sa telepono.. (sakit sa tainga... hahaha...) Actually ang dami-daming tanong na kulang na lang dumugo ang aking ilong... hahaha... =) They told me na C# programmer ang kailangan nila pero sabi ko di ako marunong pero madali naman akong turuan... mukhang na-convinced ko naman... hehehe... I think tatlo yung nasa line that time... :)
After 10 minutes noong ibinaba na yung phone... They called me again and they drop the bomb.... KABBBOOOOOOoooooOOOOMMM!!!! RENIE YOU'RE HIRED!!!! wwwhhhhhhhhhhaaaattttttttttttttttttttt!!!! shet na malagket!!!! jusko kulang na lang eh buksan ko ang bintana tapos bigla na akong tumalon... hahaha... =) di naman masyado akong excited di ba... :D Pero heto ang catch... sabi ko nga sa taas di ba merong "but...." O heto na ang but... They wanted me to be in US within 2 weeks.. jusko, para akong inilagay sa freezer at natigalgal ako sa aking pagkakatayo... alam mo yung biglang tumakbo ang isip mo na within two weeks bigla akong maglalahong parang bula sa Singapore... WOW!!! lalo akong di maka-compose ng sarili ko...
Well, it's been a dilemma for me for few days... after asking so many people around me... asking for their inputs and ideas... some of them, they pushed me to accept the offer... some of them already sad... but there's one questions that trigger me also how I managed to decide: "Am I going to be happy if I move in San Diego?" I simply say "NO!" though my family already in US but weighing all the pros & cons I can see that I'm still enjoying my life in Singapore and I believe there's no amount of dollars can pay for it...
Last Sunday, I dropped an email to them and told them that I will not accept the offer... I know some of you manghihinayang pero I believe kung para talaga sa akin ang US.. I know there's a lot of opportunities that are waiting for me... Malay mo, di pala ako sa US... pang Universe pala ako... hahaha... =) teka ano ito??? Astronaut? hehehe...
Yun lang po... tandaan nyo.. happiness di yan kayang pantayan ng kahit ano pa man... :) Okay lang mamatay na naghihirap at least masaya ka pa din kaya pagtingin ng kapitbahay nyo sa kabaong naka-SMILE ka pa din... hahaha... Jusko katakot... :P
